i hearts teh foods
Look! I made a pie! It was steak and cheese and supremely awesomer than bought pies. No fat or gristle and just the right amount of meat veg and gravy. MMM PIE.

This week I ate out twice. That’s not normal at all. First was a random Italian place, possibly with the dizziest wait staff in NZ, and one of the last places in the country not to accept eftpos. And when we asked why we got a very blonde “I don’t know! I should find out! Everyone asks!11!” Dear zob. Anyway, food wasn’t that memorable, so moving on!
Friday we went teppanyaki to celebrate Sam’s promotion. Ohyeh. Sam got a promotion! He’s now CSM at Borders, and very happy about it. So I bought him food to say “Good boy” and also to say “Thus ends an era. Now your job is buying food for ME!”
So we went to Kabuki in the Stamford Plaza hotel. It was exciting! Much flame and food throwing from Ken, our chef! (I COMPLETELY stole this photo, but yay fire!) Sam failed to catch the egg thrown to him and dropped it in his miso soup. Oh how we laughed. Then he failed to catch omelette in his mouth. More mirth. Then he spilled sake on the table. I despaired.
The food was decent, not outstanding, but you pay for the theatre so fair enough. I preferred the prawns at Daikoku, but the show was far superior last night. We left having eaten an elegant sufficiency – enough to bloat me and more or less satisfy the bottomless pit that is Sam’s tumtum.
Unfortunate by-product of the evening was that the sodium overdose brought on an attack of vertigo for yours truly today. Haven’t had one for a while and can’t say I’ve missed it, but what can you do. Lots of water for me. LOTS!
