That’s right: my baby is all growned up and will soon have to find gainful employment. I know this coverage is delayed – the actual birthday was a little hectic.

As with last year, she managed to get ill just before her birthday, but this time with some stomach thing instead of a cold. That’s fine though; if she only ever gets sick once a year I probably can’t complain about the timing.

I completely forgot to measure her height last weekend and she’s in bed yelling WHEEEE currently so it’ll have to wait. I did a couple of weeks back though and I think it worked out she’d be 2cm taller than me when she’s done growing. Which I suppose is OK – I should still be able to borrow her clothes but my stuff will be slightly too short on her. AHAHA. Her weight’s around 11-12kg, which is bang in the middle of the chart. I choose not to listen to any of Dad’s comments about the size of her head.

Part One: The OhBaby! babies.

The week before her birthday we met up with the same group of babies we see on occasion and partied with last year. My how they’ve grown!

Part Three: The Birthday

On her actual birthday we headed out to Butterfly Creek. The original plan was the Zoo, but of course she is a winter baby, born in storm season, and Auckland weather is retarded. As it turns out the forecast heavy heavy rain held off, but it was still cold and windy so we were thankful for inside options. Plus there were more opportunities for getting hands-on with the extremely patient animals!

Then pizza and jelly ‘n icecream for dinner. Nom nom nom…
